Dr. Michael Hogan graduated from Life Chiropractic College in 2000. He received his bachelor of Science from Eastern Washington University with degrees in Exercise Science and Chemistry. Dr. Hogan approaches the treatment of injuries through osseous manipulation, active release technique (ART), myofascial release, sound assisted soft tissue manipulation (SASTM), kinesiotaping, laser therapy, nutritional counseling, stretching and corrective strengthening exercises. His goal is to not only diagnose an injury, but also understand its cause to prevent future re-occurrences.
Dr. Hogan volunteers his time at various sporting events, including 2005 U.S. Figure Skating Championships and Ironman Triathlons. Chiropractic care for sports injuries has been found to be safe, effective, can enhance athletic performance, and is used widely by professional athletes. A study published in the 1995 British Medical Journal found that for long-term low back pain, "Improvement in all patients at three years was about 29% more in those treated by chiropractors than in those treated by the hospitals." The study continued, "The beneficial effect of chiropractic on pain was particularly clear."
Dr. Hogan practices what he preaches. He receives chiropractic care and works out on a regular basis including strength and cardiovascular training. A healthy diet and stress reduction are also key components to Dr. Hogan's lifestyle.
